Lisa Michelle Merrithew

Lisa Michelle Merrithew (born May 30, 1972 in Saint John, New Brunswick) is a noted Canadian public relations consultant and political operative, and was formerly the fiancée of Peter MacKay, the final leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and later deputy leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Merrithew is the youngest child of Bobbie McLean and Gerald Stairs Merrithew.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of King's College and a Bachelor of Public Relations Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Her father served as a cabinet minister in the province of New Brunswick and both he and MacKay's father, Elmer MacKay, were Progressive Conservative cabinet members in the government of Brian Mulroney.

In 2006, she served as deputy chief of staff to Premier Bernard Lord.

After the 2006 provincial election, Lisa returned to the private sector and is currently a Senior Vice President with the international communications firm Fleishman-Hillard.
