Lisa Evers

Lisa Evers is a general assignment reporter for FOX 5 News in New York City. She covers a wide variety of stories, but specializes in crime and counter-terrorism. She also occasionally hosts FOX 5's public affairs show, "Good Day Street Talk" on topical issues. In addition to her work in television, Lisa hosts a weekly #1 rated public affairs talk show on New York's Hot 97 FM radio.
Prior to working at FOX 5, Lisa was a general assignment reporter for 1010 WINS radion, the nation's #1 news radio station. Evers was a member of the Guardian Angels, and married its founder Curtis Sliwa, on December 24th, 1981. They divorced in 1993. Evers worked as a model in the 1980's. Evers made an attempt at becoming a professional wrestler in the mid-1980s, and briefly joined the World Wrestling Federation. In the early 1990s, Evers was co-host of a radio talk show with her then-husband Curtis Sliwa on WABC-AM in New York City.
She has been given numerous awards and honors for her reporting and her volunteer community efforts.
