Lisa Dwan is an Irish actress, from Coosan, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland.
Lisa originally wanted to be a ballet dancer and quit school at the age of 14, after winning a scholarship to attend a ballet school in Leeds. However, she had to abandon ballet after a cartilage went in her knee.
In 2006 she played Zoe Burke on the number one Irish soap opera Fair City, a role which she carried on until 2007. She previously starred in 56 episodes on Fox Kids fantasy-themed show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, John Boorman's The Tailor of Panama with Pierce Brosnan and 13 episodes of The Big Bow Wow for RTÉ. Her first movie was Walt Disney's adaptation of Oliver Twist (1997 film) with Elijah Wood and Richard Dreyfuss. She also has serveral theatre credits. She most recently performed Samuel Beckett's Not I in London , and was interviewed with Billie Whitelaw as part of the Beckett celebrations on BBC Radio 3.
Dominic Cavendish in the The Daily Telegraph described the preformance of Lisa Dwan's Not I below "Not I, a solo role for a spotlit mouth. Lisa Dwan's - contorting and twitching away high up in the air and far back in the dark - makes an unforgettable sight, and in itself is worth the price of admission."
Lisa also starred in the television show Rock Rivals as the character Angel Islington[1].
