Liriope

Liriope has two distinct meanings:
- Liriope in mythology was the mother of Narcissus, by the river-god Cephissus, according to Ovid's Metamorphoses.
- Liriope (lilyturf) is a genus of plants in the lily family. Just as the Narcissus (daffodil) was named for Narcissus, the liriope was named for Liriope.
