"Lip Gloss" is a song by rapper Lil Mama. It was released in 2007 (see 2007 in music) and is the first single from her debut album, VYP: Voice of the Young People.

On the weekend ending June 2, the song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at number ninety-five. The next week it fell out, but because of its release to iTunes, it re-entered at number twelve in the week ending June 16; it has since peaked at number ten. It has also charted on the United World Chart.

There is a dance called "The Lip Gloss" that accompanies the song.[3] A remix of the song features Trina and is on her mixtape Rockstarr Royalty. This song was #56 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007.[4]

The music video shows Lil Mama dancing and rapping at a high school, her alma mater of Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, NY.[5] The video edit is different from the radio edit of the song. Before the third verse, the video switches to "No Music". Young Dro and The Pack make appearances in the video. The verse from "No Music" was also featured on the album verion of the "Lip Gloss" and the full version can be heard on youtube[6]

The "Lip Gloss" video peaked at number one on MTV's TRL and at number six on BET's 106 & Park. The video was featured on MTV's Battle of the Videos against videos by Linkin Park ("What I've Done") and Evanescence ("Sweet Sacrifice"); it lost to Linkin Park's "What I've Done" video by a wide margin.[7] The video was also nominated for Monster Single of the Year at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
