[edit] Welcome
Hello, Liolick79, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to anounce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.
Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.
Again, welcome!—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:38, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vareniki
Please do not change the language order in this article. In cases where a subject matter is equally applicable to several countries/languages, the list in the lead line should be arranged alphabetically. Let me know if you have any questions; I'll be glad to answer them. Thank you.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:43, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi! I re-arranged the introduction, added some references, and a bit of interesting trivia. Hopefully the article is now to our mutual satisfaction, although, of course, there is still plenty of room to grow. Please let me know if you keep having problems with this article. Thanks.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] copying the copyrighted text
We appreciate your contributions to the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Also, even if external material is copyright-free, it is generally considered not a good style to just copy it into the articles verbatim.
Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. --Irpen 22:12, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- More on that... Lioloick, we all appreciate your desire to contribute but if you just paste external text and replace "advantegoeus" by "good" this would still be a copyvio, as you did in the Treaty of Bila Tserkva. If you want to expand an article, the best way is to find several sources, study them and write your own text. Thank you. --Irpen 22:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

- But if you find a source with some extremely useful information, it may be still a good idea to add a link to a source in the end of an article. I added the articles in EofUA you used to the "External links" list. --Irpen 22:32, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
