Liopetri (Greek: Λιοπέτρι) is a village in southern Ammochostos District, Cyprus. It is close to the communities of Frenaros, Sotira, Avgorou and Xylofagou (Larnaca District).
On September 2, 1958 the Battle of Liopetri was fought here between the British and four EOKA fighters, Fotis Pittas, Andreas Karios, Elias Papakyriakou and Christos Samaras, who were from Liopetri.
In 2001 the number of inhabitants was 3,837.[1]
