I'm LinuxDude from
Canada. I have no time for soap boxes, though SOAP/WSDL is pretty cool, even if it is a Microsoft invention. If you get that pun, hats off to you!
Particular interests:
- High performance computing, The Grid and evolution of the internet, Grid services, OGSA, Global Grid forum, Globus, Beowulf clusters, Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and all other Unix OS's, bash shell programming, vi sed and awk (ok emacs is alright too, I guess), SNMP, TCP/IP and related protocols, Ancient Biblical texts, Dead sea scrolls, Ancient history, Ancient books, early Britain, early Canada, the Middle East, the Crusades, n scale model trains, Soo line, CP, CN and railroads in general, all things Scottish, Traveling, Petra Jorden, Russia and Russians, and just about everything else that's interesting.
An interesting subject to ponder is how virtual communities model real world communities, and how virtual politics model real world politics. There will come a time when high performance computing models will look more like real society than simple implementations of behavioral rule sets. Though Artificial Intelligence may be dead, artificial sociology isn't (you can quote me on that).
[edit] Articles Needed
Unfortunately I've been dragged into the Roman crap, but I hate to see links unfinished. An argument in one of the Talk forums I encountered made reference to which doesn't seem to quite fit with the English articles. I'm going to see if I can resolve some of the issues, though I think someone else is working on it also.
