- How does this meet the criteria for software? IrishGuy talk 00:40, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
LinkScan is a computer software product. By the way, a large portion of the original article has been deleted to address the complaints made.
- I realize that it is software. Does it meet the criteria for inclusion? If so, how? IrishGuy talk 01:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
It is very noteworthy. If you do a google search on "LinkScan" you will find over 76,000 referral links to that name. If you look at a small sample of the users of the product you find leaders, in commerce, government and education. See list here: http://www.elsop.com/linkscan/clients.html
11/29/06 - Information to support notability of the subject of the stub
In looking at the notability of LinkScan, one must bear in mind that because of it's high cost $750 to $7,500 and more, and it's value being realized in just very large websites, that it's use is much more limited then consumer oriented products. It is used primarily by very large organizations who can afford the staff and resources to maintain large websites. You can develop an appreciation for this by reading the following news story.
Front page news article in GCN (Government Computer News) about the use of LinkScan by the U.S. Postal Service
