Note: Though it states in the Guide to writing better articles that generally fictional articles should be written in present tense, all Tolkien legendarium-related articles that cover in-universe material must be written in past tense. Where in the world are these numbers - 900,000, 50,000 - coming from? And are they meant to refer to the total Elvish population of Middle Earth (including the relatively populous realms of Northern Mirkwood and Lothlórien) or only to Elves in Lindon? 900,000 seems ridiculously high, regardless - there don't even seem to be that many men in Gondor, and Gondor seems like it should be much more populous than even the largest Elf realm (which is presumably Thranduil's). john k 21:05, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

John: You're so right, those numbers are frankly ridiculous... I've struck the statement. Kingnavland (talk) 21:57, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
