I think this article should be merged with Mead. Thoughts? MidgleyDJ 08:21, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't agree, Lindisfarne Mead is very much Northumberland Product, it's part of the history of Northumberland. ZaffaNE 08.47, 12/10/2006

In which case the page needs to be about Lindisfarne Mead. General information on mead should be removed and merged. MidgleyDJ 08:18, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I moved the general mead information to Talk:Mead. I think more information specifically on Lindisfarne mead - it's origins etc would be useful for this article. MidgleyDJ 08:37, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] External links

I'm just wondering whether the link removed ie:

Is this official website of the subject of the article? If so, it should probably be included. I dont know enough about the subject to make a call on this issue. MidgleyDJ 21:22, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion

  • Lindisfarne Mead does appear to be notable (and old) type of mead. Added a reference from the BBC and some other information. MidgleyDJ 20:19, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Mead is mead, nothing in this article says how this is different from mead made anywhere else. If Lindisfarne Mead is the link above, it is made by a company in existence for 40 years. A relative newcomer in UK brewing. Nuttah68 20:30, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I disagree, a 40 year import battle is notable in that it garnered some media interest independant of the product (one of the notability guidelines). To my mind this article is not terribly different from articles such as Bundaberg_Rum - the difference being this article is a stub and needs fleshing out. MidgleyDJ 20:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I don't thnk the statement "Mead is mead" is correct here. Its recipe includes "grapes and herbs", according to the article. I think the references demonstrate notability. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 20:38, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
