I've noticed this article was wikified a while back, but some POV statements have since been added. Its current tone is a little too informal for an encyclopedia, and some descriptive phrases seem to exist solely to flatter the subject's singing abilities, not stating them as fact.

One way to improve it would be to cite references for opinionated statements like: "Linda Lewis is credited for possessing a five octave vocal range, and rightfully so. Linda has one of the most distinctive voices ever to grace the music world....Therefore, the sweet little girl voice that is often used, in a moment notice is transformed to this big, wisely woman sounding voice bringing listeners to a deeper depth and appreciation."

Others would be to add biographical information such as date of birth, etc., make a template with chart information, or perhaps provide an image (in line with Wikipedia's image use policy).

I'm willing to work on this article, but request that revisions and cleanup/NPOV tags *not* be removed until the issues are resolved. Anyone else care to get involved? Cheers, --Marysunshine 01:03, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Well Marysunshine, I am the one responsible for the creation of this page, and the above citations which seem to be of contentions are from my personal reading form various articles, as well as her liner notes from her compilation and also my personal point of view. I must admit that I am new to this whole Wikipedia site for which I have great appreciation. I would appreciate any help you or anyone can offer in the development of this page. May 31, 2006.

That's great, then. As it stands, the information about her career is perfect -- but what would really make the article stellar is referencing the comments about how good she is (we don't want people to think she's an awful singer!) by citing reviews, the liner notes, and perhaps the articles that you've read about her, to avoid what's called original research. I've made a few cosmetic changes to the writing style -- using "Lewis" instead of Linda, etc, and I can also look for more sources if you'd like.--Marysunshine 16:03, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Marysunshine, I would love to, and I appreciate your kind gestures as well. I would also appreciate the inclusion of some imagery. Thanks again. June 1, 2006

[edit] whistle reg

what songs does she hit whistle in? I am interested to hear her. If anyone can share with me that would be stellar! Thanx

I for one do not know much about Linda other than that on various music sites she is compared to Deniece Williams and Minnie Riperton, this prompted me to buy her 2003 release of her Best Of collection and from what I hear I do not doubt the editor's admission of her on whistle register list. She hits some high notes on 'Rock and Roller Coaster', 'Love where are you now', 'This time I'll Be sweeter', and 'It's in his kiss'. Hopefully someone can specify which albums she use this note...Anyway I am impress with her vocals and she really seems to have a limitless vocal...It's only a pity many of her albums are hard to find and for those available are too expensive. 10/7/06

thanx, I know what u mean! I can't find anything in stores, an online they want like 50 bucks for some collections. Maybe I'll have better luck on napster.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Lindalewis.jpg

Image:Lindalewis.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
