is "Prince Lincoln" a nickname?

no, prince is used by several reggae artists, notably Prince Far I. Maybe this site should be renamed Lincoln Thompson, though such a thing could not be done with Prince Far I.

Did he die of liver or lung cancer? I have reads both, SqueakBox 04:13, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)

This is a message from the family of Prince Lincoln any questions can be directed to his daughter at noushie79@hotmail.co.uk. Blessed love, Rastafari

Any chance of donating us a picture of the great man? SqueakBox 01:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use

(from SqueakBox talk) Please read WP:FUC and the copyright notice for album covers carefully. The image I removed (2nd time), is in a section devoted to the artist and not the album. True, it mentions the album, but that's not sufficient. Perhaps you might place this album down to the discography section? Rklawton 01:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

My understanding is that as long as the image is next to the paragraph that talks about the album (which where I put it the second time, and the first time didnt) then that is fair use. What is the difference between where I put the Experience image and where I put the 21st Century image? The latter is also by a sentence talking about the album. I am not averse to fair use so could you point out the relevant passage in FUC, its a legalistic looking document. I have had fair use debatres before about the time magazine photo used in the Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia and Rastafari movement articles where I was able to persuade with my argument re fair use on the grounds that the magazine cover is being talked about where the image is placed. I'd certainly like to get some sort of compromise on this one, SqueakBox 01:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Good idea. The copyright tag reads in part: "solely to illustrate the audio recording in question". WP:FUC states in part "The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose". Some editors interpret this to mean only the album's article. This particular article is about the artist and not the recording. By way of compromise, I think adding the image to the section that is not about the artist but about the album would be appropriate. The discography section is unambiguously about the album, so it should qualify. Putting the image in a section which simply mentions the album pretty much hits on "decorative" and so stretches the fair use line too far. Rklawton 01:41, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:21stcen.jpg

Image:21stcen.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
