Linea AV Bologna-Firenze

The Bologna-Firenze is a high-speed railway under construction in Italy. The line is 78,5 km long of which 73,8 are in tunnels. It will be opened between 2009 and 2010.

From Bologna to Firenze, the tunnels are:

  • Pianoro, 10.850 m
  • Sadurano, 3.855 m
  • Monte Bibele, 9.243 m
  • Raticosa, 10.450 m
  • Scheggianico, 3.559 m
  • Fiorenzuola, 15.285 m
  • Borgo Rinzelli, 717 m
  • Morticine, 654 m
  • Vaglia, 18.711 m

Maximum rock coverage is about 600 to 700 m. Al tunnels are double track. Each tunnel has an intermediate acces about every 5 km, except Vaglia, that has a parallel service tunnel for about half of its length.
