Line Renaud

Line Renaud is a French singer and actress (born Jacqueline Ente, on July 2 1928 in Nieppe).

She is very popular in France for her charities against AIDS; she had a brief career as a singer in Las Vegas and in the Ed Sullivan Show.

In 1954 she sang at the Moulin rouge, then went to the US to sing at luxury hotels in New York and Los Angeles, and on the Ed Sullivan Show. She recorded a duo with Dean Martin "Two Sleepy People" (Relax Ay Voo) and sang in The Dean Martin Show. In 1959, she was the review leader at the Casino de Paris, then she was hired at the Dunes, a Las Vegas casino from 1963 to 1965.

As an actress she was nominated three times for a César Award, in 1995, 2000 and 2002, but never received one. She played the role of the mother of Dany Boon in French 2008 comedy hit Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis.
