Line M2 - Milan Subway (Metropolitana di Milano)

The Line 2 (Ita: Linea Due) was the second subway built in Milano. The first section of the Line 2 was opened in 1969 between Caiazzo and Gobba. Line 2 is also called Linea Verde (Green Line). Today it runs from the Southern neighbourhoods to the city centre then to the Northern neighbourhoods finally splitting up into 2 branches in the North. Eastern suburbs.

LINE 2 - Green

Main Line:

Totally Line 2 is 34.6 km long and has 33 stations; 4.7 km with 3 new stations are being built as part of a new, Southern branch. Works will be completed in the first month of 2008.

  7. Cadorna FNM-Triennale (Station in a busy city square connected with the commuter railways and the Triennale Art Exposition Centre. Use this station to climb on the Malpensa airport express train.)
  8. Lanza-Piccolo Teatro-Brera (Station close to the Piccolo Teatro, the Castello Sforzesco and the Brera District)
  9. Moscova (Station close to the Brera District)
  10. Garibaldi F.S. (Station close to the Corso Como District and the Porta Garibaldi Railway Station)
  11. Gioia (Station in the heart of the financial district)
  12. Centrale F.S. (Station in the heart of the financial district and under the main railway station)
  13. Caiazzo (Station close to the main railway station)
  14. Loreto (Station in the square where, in 1945, the dictator Mussolini was hanged. Close to the Corso Buenos Aires shopping area)
  15. Piola (Station in the Città Studi district, the location of 3 Universities)
  16. Lambrate F.S. (Station in the Città Studi district, and the Lambrate Railway Station)
  17. Udine (Station close to the Eastern Suburb and Parco Lambro, a large public park)
  18. Cimiano (Station close to the Eastern Suburb and Parco Lambro)
  19. Crescenzago (Station close to the Eastern Suburb and Parco Lambro)
  20. Cascina Gobba (Station close to the Eastern Suburb and the Milano 2 neighborhood and the San Raffaele Hospital)
