Lindex is a Swedish clothing company with stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany, and is one of the largest clothing companies in Scandinavia. It was founded in 1954 in Alingsås nearby Göteborg, and it is also in Göteborg that the company headquarters are located. In 2006 (March), Lindex had more than 350 stores in six countries, and more are under way.
The company was in october 2007 sold to the Finnish company Stockmann.

LindeX is also the index for trading the virtual currency in Second Life, allowing virtual 'Linden Dollars' to be traded for real money. A portmanteau word, from 'Linden', the creators of the virtual world, and 'index'. sale
