[edit] Mission

To ensure every student acquires the knowledge, and receives the personal support necessary, to graduate from high school prepared to successfully pursue either a career or post-secondary education. Highlights include Freshman Academy, advanced placement courses, Kenyon college classes on site, internships, credit recovery, a college preparatory curriculum, and guaranteed college financial assistance for students meeting academic and attendance criteria.

[edit] Specialized Schooling

In the 2005-2006 school year, Linden McKinley transformed into three small schools:

The School of College & Career Exploration – This small school will provide comprehensive educational opportunities for students to realize their full academic, occupational, societal, and personal potential. Each student will discover his or her individual strengths and interests and will learn to expand these components in an academic setting.

The School of Business Leadership – The mission is to prepare students to succeed in the global market by fostering strong and lasting relationships in a small, caring, and safe environment. Students and teachers practice locally and think globally to give the students the skills necessary for the 21st century.

School of Exploration, Excellence, & Knowledge – This school will promote academic achievement and personal development in all students, while building lasting relationships and providing real world education that extends beyond the campus of Linden McKinley High School. Features of this school include: Life on the Ropes, character development, field experiences, sophomore shadows, junior journeys, and senior service.

[edit] Student Life

Leadership skills are developed through extra-curricular activities available both during and after the school day: Student council, GEWELS (Girls Empowered with Exceptional Leadership Skills), National Honor Society, SAVESNet, athletics, cheerleading, drill team, and marching band.
