Linda Salzman Sagan (born July 16, 1940) is an artist and writer, famed for creating the artwork for the plaque on the Pioneer spacecraft and for coproducing the Voyager Golden Record. She co-authored the book Murmurs of Earth with her ex-husband, astronomer Carl Sagan, whom she married on April 6, 1968; the marriage lasted until their divorce in 1981. She is also known for directing a number of plays for the Central Casting Theater in Ithaca, New York and for writing episodes of television shows such as Knots Landing and General Hospital. Sagan was born in the Brooklyn, New York.
Ms. Salzman Sagan is the mother of author and screenwriter Nick Sagan.
