Linda Lapointe (born in Laval, Quebec) is a politician from Quebec, Canada, and the Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ) Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Groulx.
Lapointe has a college diploma in health sciences from the CEGEP Ahuntsic. She also went at the Université de Montréal and receive a bachelor's degree in business administration. Before her election, she managed and owned a Provigo grocery store and was responsible for the accountancy of it. She also worked for the Association des détaillants en alimentation du Québec (Quebec food retailers association) as a treasurer, for the Boisbriand Economic Development Committee and for Emploi-Quebec. She was also a candidate in the Boisbriand Municipal in 2005.
At one point, she considered running for the Liberals, but eventually joined the ADQ. [1]
Lapointe was first elected in the 2007 election with 37% of the vote. Liberal incumbent Pierre Descoteaux, finished third with 27% of the vote. Lapointe took office on April 12, 2007 and was named the critic for economic development and the Montreal region. [2]
