Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School is located in the City of Mississauga, Ontario (part of the Peel District School Board). It is named after the former federal cabinet minister and former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, The Honourable Lincoln Alexander

Founded in 1968 as Westwood Secondary School, it was renamed in 2001 after it merged with Morning Star Secondary School.

After its merger the school was expanded creating the present day geography/historical studies wing. This was done in an effort to accommodate for more students. The previous vacant spot was the where annual school carnivals were held.

The exterior of the school is architecturally almost an exact copy of Erindale Secondary School, while the interior remain different.

This High School is located on Morning Star Road near the intersection of Morning Star Rd. and Goreway Dr. Its location is prime because it's central to the small community of Malton making it a convenient walk for everyone. As a result its not serviced by school buses except for the disabled. Adjacent to the high school is Malton's Public Library with its facilities. While just south of the Goreway/Morning Star along Goreway Road is Westwood Mall as well as other plazas that have many restaurants. The proximity to such places has become popular destinations for students during lunch or after school.

[edit] Athletics

Lincoln has various sport teams in the school that play under the school's mascot of a Lynx. During the 1990's their senior boys basketball team contended for both the Peel title, and for the provincial playoffs (OFSAA). For the 2007 season they are going to get a junior boys football team.

In addition, the school also has a community pool which provides many services to the locals.
