The student-produced newspaper, The Lincolnian is printed approximately every three weeks.
[edit] NJROTC
The Naval science course electives are taught by the NSI Senior Chief Mark Williams. The course teaches leadership, moral values, and discipline to its cadets. The students are required to wear a uniform once a week. Weekly curriculum includes military drill, naval history, current events, color guard, orienteering, and a weekly physical training day when the cadets get to run, exercise, and play games.
The program is company-sized and therefore referred to as Trojan Company. There are two classrooms and two storage rooms for the unit to hold uniforms, drill rifles, swords, and all other gear. Twice a week on the designated uniform day, the company has a company-wide meeting for fifteen to twenty minutes at lunch, which is commonly referred to as "formation". During this time, the company acts as a whole and awards, ranks, and other news is passed out.
NJROTC(Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) is a cadet-run program, and has a command staff consisting of a Commanding officer, Executive officer, Operations officer, etc.
The company has two very prestigious teams which have earned many awards. The first, the drill team competes in drill competitions for trophies. The second is the color guard. Lincoln High school's award-winning color guard not only performs in drill competitions, but for the opening of football games and various school functions. They are often requested by local groups around Stockton and Lodi, to perform color guard during the national anthem. This is not related to the color guard which flag twirls and marches around with the band. The NJROTC color guard has a much more prestigious duty.
