James Linwood Dawson (born June 24, 1959 in Norfolk, Virginia) is a former professional American football player who played tight end for nine seasons for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. He started in Super Bowl XX, but suffered torn knee ligaments on the Patriots' first play.
