[edit] From Meta:Help talk:Link

Regarding the grammar, "just like ab does" should be changed to "just as ab does". Also, "looking equal to" should be "appearing like". D021317c 04:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

"Unlike the name suggests, the target site need not be a wiki" would be better expressed by "The target site, unlike what the name suggests, need not be a wiki." D021317c 04:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "[1]" style internal links

Mention how to make a link that looks like "[1]", but is internal. I.e., [http://b.l.a/] gives what I want, but what if one likes the [1] style, but just wants to link another internal page but have it show up as [1].

Or mention if that is impossible, to stop security confusion, etc. Jidanni 19:08, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] History pasted into the Talk page: dumb

Yuck, why is the History pasted into the Talk page? Isn't there a history button already, no? The page is 43 Kb long already. Jidanni 19:11, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

If anyone's still curious, here's my best understanding: it's something that has to be done as part of transwiki-ing, in order for the history of the page under the previous namespace to be preserved. \sim Lenoxus " * " 17:06, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Carl Benjamin Trimble: Architect (born October 03, 1946)

Carl Benjamin Trimble was born in Opelika Alabama; A small Industrial Town near Auburn Alabama. Enrolling in J.W. Darden High School at age twelve, he graduated with Honors. His Father worked for Pepperell Manufacturing Company and his mother worked for East Alabama Medical Center. In 1964 Trimble enrolled in Tuskegee Institute, a historically black school about twenty five miles from Opelika Alabama. He was a member of a fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi and graduated in 1968 with a B.A., degree in Architectural Science.

In 1969 he volunteered to serve his country as photo mate for the United States Navy and served three years. He returned to Tuskegee in 1972 and received Bachelors of Architecture (6 yr. degree /Masters Equivalent).

In 1974 he attended Georgia State University in Atlanta Georgia and earned a Masters Degree in Urban Community Development. As president on the Atlanta chapter of NOMA, He negotiated an agreement with the Atlanta Olympic Committee for African-American architects participation. Other negotiated agreements include: Bell south, The CDC, Georgia State University, Carter and Associates, Guest Lecturer at Cornell University, and established "Affordable Architects" to take advantage of the segmented architectural market. Countdown to the 1996 Olympics: although time is running out, aggressive companies can still get their share of the gold. (Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games' commitment to award contracts to African American businesses) (Includes information on competing for Olympics contracts) From: Black Enterprise | Date: 6/1/1994 | Author: Hill, Alma

Getting an Olympics contract is neither easy nor inexpensive, but the months of negotiating and $25,000 costs in bids are worth the price of an enviable and lucrative opportunity. Various black-owned businesses that already have contracts are profiled. Carl Trimble, owner of Trimble Architects and Computer Design Services and president of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), believes he was barred from obtaining Olympic contracts. Shortly after Atlanta won the right to host the 1996 Games, Trimble--in his capacity as NOMA president--wrote a top ACOG official a letter stating minority architects were entitled to 50% of all design contracts. "I felt very strongly that without the Third World block (of the International Olympic Committee) voting for Atlanta, there wouldn't be any Olympics in Atlanta." His assertiveness backfired. When he subsequently submitted proposals to design the tennis center and field hockey venues, his company was eliminated early in the process. Trimble believes his firm was blackballed because of his demands, but ACOG officials deny this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Viviangayle (talk • contribs) 07:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
