[edit] Quick not re: talk pages
I know you meant well in deleting the comments regarding the merging of the song lists to a single article for the various Guitar Hero games, however, relevant talk page comments should never be deleted even if the topic is no longer valid - it's better to just add a comment that the discussion is completed. --MASEM 19:36, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] At least ask me before deleting!
Look, Im not mad at you. I know its not your fault. Its probably the suits at Wiki that make you follow these stupid rules. At least warn me however, if your gonna delete somethin.--I AM JOHN SMITH (talk) 22:33, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Monsters (Matchbook Romance song)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Monsters (Matchbook Romance song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Franz Ferdinand
I noticed you've put in a lot of good work maintaining the state of the Franz Ferdinand (band) page. You may be interested in a dispute about the Franz Ferdinand page. It used to point to the disambiguation page - as, despite there being more searches for the band than the archduke, users will be interested in both topics. Unfortunately, it has recently been changing to point directly to the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria page. Could you read the discussion on the Talk:Franz Ferdinand page? I think your input would be of value. Thanks, Wardroad (talk) 15:22, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] level of warning
Hi, I gave Elephant Talk an unsourced-3 warning a few weeks ago. I noticed you gave him an unsourced-1 warning. Would you mind changing it to an unsourced-4 warning, or can I do it for you? John Hayestalk 08:34, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

My apologies. I was not aware of that fact. Thanks for letting me know. Regards. Thingg⊕⊗ 04:04, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Xbox Live

[edit] vg-stub
You're move of video-game stub created many double redirect. the template {{vg-stub}} now doesn't work. See this article, for example Carnival Games (near the bottom). Please fix the double redirects since you're the user who moved the template. Thanks. 71.164.134.119 (talk) 05:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User talk:74.173.91.114
While a final warning may not have been the best idea, I don't think this user deserved a pathetic "Welcome to Wikipedia, thanks for the edit, but this is actually vandalism, just so you know". Grsz11 (talk) 02:09, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- It isn't the standard welcome message like the others. Besides, anon IPs are (in most cases) used by many users. For example, an internet café or hotel that provides internet access where many users get on. The welcome template provides the anon user with helpful information and links to create an account and such. Just because the first two edits by that IP address were blatant vandalism. What I'd hate to see is say a user who has dial-up internet access (which will always get a new IP address) get turned away from making useful edits to articles. Look at it this way, you get on Wikipedia for the first time without and see the "You have new messages" box. You read the messages and you get turned away because you think you did something wrong (even though the messages weren't directed towards you). Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 02:25, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Where to report a user for...?
{{helpme}}
Where do I report a user who repeatedly adds the same unsourced content to an article and has had sufficient warnings on his talk page for doing so? Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 02:22, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well if you beleive that user is vandalizing report them to WP:AIV. I hope this helps, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask me on my talkpage.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 03:18, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Vagiant, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. [edit] Re: {{Videogame-gameplay-stub}}
Hi Lightsup55 - may I suggest that next time you decide to move a stub template, you do some of the following things first?
- Check the history of the stub template, to see whether the template's name has recently been the subject of a specific renaming through WP:SFD
- Check the naming guidelines for stub templatees at WP:WSS/NG
- Propose any such change via WP:SFD or with WikiProject Stub sorting at WP:WSS/P
If you'd done those things, you might have known that the use of "videogame" is standard template naming, since video-game-X-stub automatically assumes that it is a subtype of game-X-stub, a type which doesn't exist for most video games. You'd also have known that the stub type had been made originally at video-game-gameplay-stub, but had recently been the subject of a renaming to the standard name, and the old name had been orphaned and deleted. Grutness...wha? 09:26, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Star Power
Since you've now undone my edits twice now, perhaps you could please explain why you want to redirect Star Power to Guitar Hero (series)? Consider that Guitar Hero shows up in none of the top 20 (didn't bother to check more) Google results for "star power", and that there are clearly far more usages of star power that would NOT refer to Guitar Hero. The fact that there are actually no internal links to "Star Power" (except the one you created from star power) confirms this. Thus you are relying on someone actually typing in the capitalized "Star Power" in Wikipedia search to get here, even though it's not uncommon for people to capitalize phrases even when they don't need to be (e.g. searching for "Video Game"). I await your response. - Bssc81 (talk) 23:59, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Why not take the discussion about what to do with Star Power over at Talk:Guitar Hero (series) where the community can discuss about it? If we can't come to a consensus, then it could be listed at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion. Sound like a plan? Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 04:09, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Monsters (song) Redirect?
Can you explain this? It only creates a circular loop. The re-direct to the album made far more sense as the song is not notable in the slightest. Thanks! TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 23:17, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is now loacated at Monsters (Funeral for a Friend song), which is a redirect to the album page. I'll correct the Wiki links on the disambig page when I'm done. Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 23:22, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- Gotcha! I was totally confused by the re-direct of a re-direct, but I see now how it was done. Thanks for the explanation. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 23:57, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

- And not a second after you post that comment on my talk page, I'm done. Anyway, there are two songs titled "Monsters". The one song is by Funeral for a Friend and the other by Matchbook Romance. Both now are now linked on the disambig page. The articles Monsters (Funeral for a Friend song) and Monsters (Matchbook Romance song) redirect to the article about the album on which the song appears on. [edit] Disambig
Please read MOS:DAB and WP:DAB. Disambiguation pages are for helping people find the specific page they were looking for, out of similar possibilities. I did not remove the link on the grounds that the article doesn't have a similar name ("guitar hero something-something"). I removed it because the article it links to doesn't even use the phrase "Guitar Hero". If a user were looking for a song by that name by this admittedly non-notable band, the disamiguation page would not help them find information, because it doesn't point them to a page where information can be found. It is not appropriate to use the disambiguation page to introduce this song to people who haven't heard of it - these pages are strictly for people already looking for it.
However, if the band is non-notable then that is a second reason not to include it at all, in the spirit of the rule on red links: "There is no need to brainstorm all occurrences of the page title and create red links to articles that are unlikely ever to be written, or likely to be removed as insufficiently notable topics". If the band is not even notable enough to have a mention in a larger article then that is all the more reason not to include it. Regardless, the first reason is reason enough; there is already nothing at all to navigate to — TheBilly(Talk) 23:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Characters in Guitar Hero
An editor has nominated Characters in Guitar Hero, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Characters in Guitar Hero and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 10:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

We are discussing the future of the Fuel efficiency in transportation on the talk page talk:Fuel efficiency in transportation please add suggestions there BEFORE making edits. Thanks Ephdot (talk) 21:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- The only major edit I did was the revert because of the recent edit war. I'm sorry if I had added back sections that were discussed and should have been removed. Besides that, all of my other edits were minor (minor fixes to references, etc.) Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 21:23, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Lol. Sorry, I've been dealing with some very aggressive editors all day and I thought you were one of them... Ephdot (talk) 21:33, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I guessed you saw the (5? not sure how many) edits I made which really minor uncontroversial changes like fixing references and stuff (even though I did provide a self explanatory edit summary) and that is what lead you to add this message. Anyway... don't worry about it. Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 21:38, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
