[edit] The Nine Planets

A tag has been placed on The Nine Planets, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain web site, blog, forum, or other community of web users that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:The Nine Planets. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Marasmusine 14:27, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merging an article proposal

Hello, Arthur! Since I saw you liked astronomy, I'd like to tell you about something. On the artitle S/2005 (79360) 1, there is tag proposing to be merged with (79360) 1997 CS29. You can discuss what you want to do on the discussion page for S/2005 (79360) 1. There is only one user that put a note on there. The deadline is Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 15:00 (Eastern time). Kamope 23:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Done! ArthurWeasley 19:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Extrasolar planet

I don't see too much vandalism since the article was unprotected (about two such edits since 13th December). If you believe the page should be protected, please list and explain it at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. - Mike Rosoft 18:32, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Christmas gift

Hey, thanks so much for your barnstar gift on Christmas day! I'm glad that you appreciate my edits and look forward to working with you to advance Wikipedia as best we can. Cheers!! Budgiekiller 00:02, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sun's life

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sun's life, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Sun's life. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. J Milburn 01:24, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for the barnstar. That was the first case of complex vandalism I dealt with and it taught me a lot about how to use wikipedia and contribute to the community. I appreciate your kindness. Continue to be bold! :-) Random Passer-by 17:11, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cubewano dimensions

I don't know if you realize this, the the listing in the Harvard.edu site for TNOs under "M" is for Mean Anomaly, not diameter as you had listed objects on here. Thanks for the Star you gave me though, I didn't realize I did anything worthwhile though.Sethhater123 04:57, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Sethhater123

Thank you. What were the dimensions under anyway? Kamope 13:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion page/Ooze

Huh? What was that page for? I deleted it -- Chris 73 | Talk 21:39, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Happy New Year

Thanks very much for your barnstar, and I apologize for removing it from my main user page because I was unable to place all the stars I had received (see User talk:Mike Rosoft/praise </shameless plug>:-) without breaking it.

[edit] Re: Your revert to Enceladus (moon) edit summary

I am fully aware of that the only natural satellite of the Earth is sometimes called "Luna". However, the object has an English name, "Moon", and that one should always be used here. This is not the Latin Wikipedia nor a sci-fi book. The word must be capitalized when used in astronomical context in order to make it unambiguous (examples: "Europa and the Moon are both moons").--JyriL talk 15:44, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image for userbox

Hi Kamope, you left me a message a short while ago about using one of my images for a Userbox. Is this still the case? If so, which one was it? I'm more than happy for you to use any of my contributions! Cheers! Budgiekiller 21:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

The image I used for the userbox was the image of the Superb Starling. If you want to see the userbox see User:Kamope/Userboxes. If you want to use the userbox, copy the code and paste it on your userpage or if you have one, your userbox subpage. Kamope 22:13, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I like it! Very nice work! Budgiekiller 13:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My Prank

Yes, I thought the same when I saw it for the first time, I thought the same. The difference was that, instead of linking to a subpage, it linked to Practical joke, for even greater effect. :-) Someone asked me to change it though, since it confused newcomers. I also have seen double orange bars (not on my talk though); it looks wierd! | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 00:04, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but I saw it coming. :-) Popups makes it even easier. The one thing I didn't expect was to be linked to Talk:Practical joke. Good try anyways. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 17:45, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

By the way, the "Orange Bar of Doom" (to quote User:E@L) you just saw was real. ;-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 17:47, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Wow, there are a lot of games there; it must have taken a long time to make. You might have some problems later though, because some users/admins don't like games on Wikipedia that aren't encyclopedic, and nominate them for deletion (I'm not one of them :). On the joke, I think it's better like that. Also, you can add {{User Sig Collect}} to your signature page if you'd like; that adds you to Category:Wikipedians who collect signatures of other Wikipedians automatically. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 12:14, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I cannot add that template to my signature page because it messes it all up. I put it on my userpge though. Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 14:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok, that's fine. By the way, I played a few of your games. :-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 12:44, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 12:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Two is better than one, I think. :-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 13:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Aagh, I came to say thank you for signing my autograph book, and I fell for your prank. Oh well. :-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 16:29, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

Hello, Firs! If it is agreed to delete the redirect Sun's life, may you please delete it? If it is agreed to delete it, it has to be deleted sometime tomorrow. Look at its talk page which redirects to its RfD page before you delete to make sure it has been agreed to delete it. If it is agreed, just delete it. If you have any questions about, please feel free to leave a note on my talk page. Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 22:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Kamope!
There's no need to notify an admin when an RFD results in deletion. Someone will be along to delete it, I promise. Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 23:25, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

Please consider reducing the font size in your signature to be the same as regular text. There is no need to draw extra attention to your own contributions over those of everyone else. It is in contravention of WP:SIG. —Dgiest c 00:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Addendum: size="2" is normal. Also, your choice of colors could cause problems for colorblind users. —Dgiest c 00:27, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I greatly apprechiate it. Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 00:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes

Of course. That's why I created them; take whatever you need, and if you want, help me improve the others. I intend to add them to WP:USERBOXES later on, so I need suggestions. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 22:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Thumbs up. :-) By the way, have you taken the WP:HOLICTEST? It's the ultimate test of your addiction, and your computer power (the page is really long!). :-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 23:52, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Decemyriagon

Good work! I couldn't keep myself from editin it. :-) I also have created articles (two), and they are misarably short, and hoplessly doomed stubs. :-( | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 20:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok, but I've never seen a line separated from the rest of the text by the "See Also" and template at the end, exept vandalism of course. It's not the kind of thing that should go in article space either. On another note though, have you taken the WP:HOLICTEST? | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 22:52, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Not yet. Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 23:31, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Can you refresh my memory on that one. Where did I use user talk as a sandbox? --Johnalden 22:21, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template help

It's easy! First, you have to type "Template:<name of box goes here>" in the searchbox. In that california template, it would be "Template:User CA". As long as no existing template has that name, you'll get a red link that says "create this page". Click it, and paste the code for your userbox in it. Use preview, just in case, and save. Then, it'll be like other userboxes; just add "Template:User example" (leave out the "Template:" part) to a page to add it. Good luck! | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 21:26, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Kamope · talk · contributions 22:07, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Oops, I forgot sorry. I read it, but I got confused by the abbreviation of California. :-) | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 23:24, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Decemyriagon

An editor has nominated the article Decemyriagon for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Decemyriagon. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Decemyriagon during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. Jayden54Bot 14:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you from Dhaifley

[edit] subst:

Hey Kamope! I see you're welcoming new users. This is great (although we usually wait for them to make their first edit, so admins on New User patrol have a clear field and effort isn't wasted on the 90% or so of accounts registered but never used).

However, you're just putting {{welcome}} on each page. Every time that page is visited, a new copy of the welcome template is downloaded. This is a terrible drain on our bandwidth (we have acres of disk space but bandwidth is precious!).

Please could you use {{subst:welcome}} instead from now on? This makes a one-time copy of the welcome message that has no server drain and also deters vandalism (it's also very good for new users as they can see the code behind the message and start learning the ways of wikicode!).

Thanks very much for your time and happy editing! Cheers REDVEЯS 21:06, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the advise. Next time I welcome users, I will remember that. Kamope · talk · contributions 21:13, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
