Liga Leumit 1956-57

The 1956-57 season was the third edition of Liga Leumit as the top division of football in Israel. It took place from December 1956 to April 1957. The league ran with 10 clubs; all from the previous season, and used two points for a win and one for a draw.

The title was won by Hapoel Tel Aviv, the club's first championsip since Israel's independence. No teams were relegated.

[edit] Promotion play-off

A promotion play-off between the top five team in Liga Alef was played in the end of the season. Each team played the other four once. Top two teams were promoted.
