[edit] Weight of chain vs cable
Section "Cable lift": "Because a cable is much lighter than a chain, cable lifts are much faster than chain lifts and can be used on much steeper hills - even vertical." - This sounds suspicious. Since the chain is a loop, the portion of the chain going downhill counterbalances the portion being raised uphill, and the weight of the chain being raised should be effectively close to zero. -- 201.37.229.117 (talk) 12:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Terminology
The external link says that the part that hooks onto the lift chain is called a "dog". If this is the correct terminology, shouldnt it be used in the wikipedia article? 76.212.149.88 (talk) 07:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC) Sandy
