Talk:Life on Earth (TV series)

I don't think that was David Attenboroguh's voice in the After Eight advert. I think it was someone doing an impression of him. Mintguy (T) 18:38, 15 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- You may be right, Mintguy. It is possible that my recollection was tainted by the interview in which Attenborough confessed his bemusement at the moment's celebrity. -- Alan Peakall 18:25, 19 Feb 2004 (UTC)

- Attenborough doesn't mention doing an advert in his memoirs, and Google searches on various permutations of 'Attenborough, advertisement, mints' turn up nothing relevant except Wikipedia mirrors. Also, I can't find anything confirming that Attenborough was bemused by the scene's popularity; on the contrary, in Life on Air he calls it 'one of the most exciting encounters of my life' and expresses regret that more of it wasn't recorded (apparently the cameraman was running low on film). I've removed the entire passage; it should, of course, be reinstated if anyone finds sources to back up its claims. Perodicticus 19:41, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Episode summaries
I have started to expand the "Episodes" section to provide original summaries, and episodes 1 through 9 are now done. In order to ensure equal coverage and consistency of presentation, I am striving to keep them all to a fixed number of lines — similar to my efforts on the Planet Earth article. I hope to add the others gradually over the next few days. Chris 42 15:53, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
I've now added the last one. I wanted to include David Attenborough's closing words: I know it's a bit lengthy, but I couldn't distil it into anything less. I hope it's not a quote too far. Chris 42 21:14, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
