Talk:Life cycle of a relational database

[edit] A database is not always a good thing
"The designer must try to obtain as complete as possible an understanding of the real world problem that is going to be helped by the introduction of a database."
I'm unsure how to rephrase that. Sometimes, it is technically and/or financially unfeasable to replace an existing manual system with a database. The above sentence implies that a database will always be an improvement on an existing system. Mikesc86 23:17, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
