Lifebook
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lifebook is a range of laptop computers made by Fujitsu and its subsidiaries. Models and their distributors vary by region: subsidiaries Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific and Fujitsu Computer Systems in Europe, Asia and the United States of America, respectively. Various categories of models exist: A, B, C, E, L, N, P, Q, S, T and U class.
The Lifebooks are all made by Fujitsu or Fujitsu-Siemens, unlike most other notebooks whose production is outsourced to factories in China and Taiwan.
In Japan itself, the Lifebook range is known as "Biblio".
The Lifebook P Series (in particular, the P 1000 series) includes some of the smallest and lightest PC-compatible computers that have a hard disk and DVD-drive (P 1000 series are without DVD-drive), commonly classified as ultraportables.
The B Series are slightly bigger and heavier but have touch-sensitive screens.
The Lifebook U810 is the newest tablet PC from Fujitsu, and is much different than the past Lifebook models. The most obvious difference is the size, as the U810 features only a 5.6” touch screen, and weighs in at a mere 1.56 lbs. Compared to standard laptops, the Lifebook certainly fits a lot into its small package. It includes a 1 GB memory, a 40 GB hard drive, and a lithium-ion battery with a life up to 5.5 hours. The feature that sets this apart from normal laptops is the 180 degree swivel screen, allowing you to use it as a tablet, and writing with the specialized pen included (or finger).
