Life Coaching and the Profession of Life Coaching in Ireland is rapidly catching up with countries like the USA and UK. Life and Business Coaching Association of Ireland known as LBCAI has the largest membership of Irish coaches and is the premier association in the country. Another organisation called the Irish Coaching Development Network (ICDN) is also working with the industry to improve training and standards for coaches. There are number of smaller coaching groups who are also involved in the process of developing coaching in Ireland.

Business Coaching is also now an important part of the management tool kit in Irish business. There are many Human Resources (HR) executives in Irish companies who have training in coaching. This demographic shift in the make up Irish society is also bringing challenges. Also there was a time in Ireland, only a couple of decades ago when people aspired to having a job for life. Now job mobility is the norm and is posing challenges to both businesses and to individuals. All this change is the bread and butter of the Life and Business Coaching industry.

So what is the typical type of independent coaching business now in Ireland? Well outside side of the business coaching part of the industry most are signal coaches or small groups of independent coaches who work together through referral. While most are based near or in urban centres there are many based in more rural areas. Businesses like Activity4Life are spring up all over the country. They are offering quite a wide range of coaching styles. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Coaching is also becoming more available in Ireland too.
