Life Is Peachy is Korn's second album. The album was released on October 15, 1996 through Immortal/Epic Records and has sold over 2,850,000 copies worldwide. It was produced by Ross Robinson who also produced their debut album, Korn. The album features a darker sound than the debut album, but contains more unconventional themes. A video was made showing Korn recording Life Is Peachy, entitled Who Then Now? which was included on the follow-up release Deuce.

"Lowrider" is a cover of the song by the band War, with vocals by guitarist Brian "Head" Welch. "Porno Creep" takes the style of the wah-drenched pseudo-funk music which appears on the soundtracks of many 1970s porn movies. "K@#Ø%!" is a song with many obscene lyrics written as a joke to spite radio censors.[citation needed] "Wicked" is a cover of Ice Cube's song, performed by Chino Moreno of Deftones. Both bands had played together several times, with Moreno performing the song with Korn on these occasions. A b-side to this album entitled "Proud", can be found on the I Know What You Did Last Summer soundtrack and on Live and Rare. Twist was a song that Korn were going to use on their self-titled album, as they mention it in the intro to "Clown".

"No Place To Hide" earned the band a second Grammy nomination in Best Metal Performance category (it was nominated in year 1998).

Under the CD, there is a quote from the country and western song "Streets of Bakersfield", which was written for Buck Owens by Homer Joy.

The album debuted on #3 spot on The Billboard 200, selling 106,000 of copies in its first week despite minimal radio airplay and TV attention. To date, it has sold over 2 million units in the United States.

This album is considered by many fans and critics alike to be Korn's signature sound and the definitive sound of the nu metal genre.

[edit] Original promo cassette

Prior to the album's release a promo cassette was made. There are several differences between this and the final release, notably the track listing of Side One. Note that the end of "Good God" and the beginning of "Porno Creep" segue well together. Also note that the "Ø" is missing from "K@#Ø%!" and that "Lowrider" is spelled as two words instead of one. Also, the notation at the end is the only instance of giving an official name to the hidden track, "Twist Acapella."
