A Life-Shield Blanket is a large sheet of camouflaging material in the fictional Dune universe that deflects energy from scans and other probes designed to detect biological matter. It serves mainly to hide a person or group of people from visual detection. In the events following their flight from Gammu Keep, Miles Teg, the ghola-Duncan Idaho and the Lady Lucilla use a life-shield blanket in order to hide themselves from overhead Ornithopter searches.
The life-shield blanket Teg carries is apparently also cryptically camouflaged, hiding him and his companions from prying eyes in the visible light spectrum as well.
