Liederkreis Op. 39

Liederkreis, op. 39 is a song cycle of poems by Joseph von Eichendorff composed by Robert Schumann. Schumann wrote two cycles of this name — the other being his opus 24 — so this work is also known as the Eichendorff Liederkreis.
Schumann wrote the cycle in 1840 (starting in May [1]), the year in which he wrote so many lieder that it is known as his "year of song".
There are twelve songs in the cycle.
