Liddo-kun's Big Adventure (リッドくんの大冒険 Riddo-kun no daibōken?), referred to as "Mr. Chupi and Friends" in the English dubbed version, is a "sub-anime" of the anime series Love Hina, following the adventures of three yellow squirrels. It is a relatively minor part of the plot, but is an early influence of Keitaro, Naru and Mutsumi. Although implied to be a typical children's anime teaching the value of hard work and friendship, Mutsumi's memories of the show typically recall many episodes ending with disturbing and somewhat gruesome conclusions.

In both the anime and manga, Naru keeps a plush Liddo-kun doll which was given to her as a child by Mutsumi, although through much of the series she remembers only that it was given to her by "a friend"). She later discovers the identity of the original owner was written on the plush's bottom. The plush usually sits on a board covering the hole between Naru and Keitaro's room. In Love Hina Again the doll makes a squeeky sound when squeezed or kicked, however it does not in Love Hina.
