Liceum ogólnokształcące

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Liceum Ogólnokształcące is the Polish high school. They are attended by those who plan to attend university or who do not have any desire to pursue a specialized career (see below).

At the end of Polish liceum students are subject to a final exam called matura. The matura is preceded by a traditional ball called studniówka.

Polish liceums are attended by children ages from 16 to 19 or 21 (see list below).

There are liceums all over Poland. Polish liceums are divided into several types:

  • General Liceum (16-19)
  • Specialized Liceum (16-19)
  • Supplementary Liceum (18-21)
