Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (IATA: PVR, ICAO: MMPR) is an international airport located at Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Located at the Pacific Ocean coast, it receives thousands of tourists all year. It handled 2,978,400 passengers in 2006 and 3,139,100 passengers in 2007 [1]. The airport is named after President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz.

[edit] Incidents and accidents
- On January 31, 2000, Alaska Airlines Flight 261, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83, originating in Puerto Vallarta en route to San Francisco and Seattle-Tacoma, crashed after the horizontal stabilizer jammed and caused the aircraft to dive into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California while attempting to divert to Los Angeles. All 88 passengers and crew on board perished.
