[edit] :{}

A tag has been placed on :{}, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write hangon on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (aeropagitica) 22:53, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Why?

Why did I get a message from you saying that my page was deleted? And... Why can't I post a picture on the page "Libertyville High School?" It just says "Image: Cats." in red letters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Libertyville (talkcontribs)

Firstly, please sign your Talk page comments with four tildes, ~~~~, as this makes it easier to respond to your questions. Secondly, the deleted article was in no way related to the minimal content, hence its deletion. As to your second question, you don't post images on to articles; they are uploaded using the Upload file link on the left-hand side menu. You can then link to the image from the article. Please read the links on the page before uploading images to ensure that you are doing so legally. Regards, (aeropagitica) 23:28, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I did try uploading the file, yet it still says "Image: Cats" in red letters. If you have time, could you please look into restoring the image that was posted as Libertyville's logo prior to my deleting of it. I know you're busy, so this isn't nessecary. If you'd be so kind though, that would make my life a lot easier. Thanks, Libertyville 23:34, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I think you mean that you want the page restored to display the logo that was removed by an anonymous IP editor? If so I have done as such. If not, then I didn't understand your request. Regards, (aeropagitica) 23:42, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Adding.

I had a Question. Can you create a page? Not edit, but create. If so, how? I wanted to create one for a school in the area. Thanks, Libertyville 23:39, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

If you go to the Help pages, you will find lots of information for new editors. You want to look at creating new articles but I would advise you to read through the Help pages first to get a better understanding of the nature of Wikipedia articles. Also, read some other school articles to see what type of useful information they contain and how they are set out for ease of use. Regards, (aeropagitica) 23:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My Page has been deleted!!!

I DEMAND THAT MY PAGE, Highland Middle School (Libertyville, Illinois) BE RESTORED. I CREATED THIS PAGE AND PUT A LOT OF HARD WORK INTO IT!!! 2 OF MY PAGES WERE WARNED OF THIS AND MY OTHER ONE HAS NOT BEEN DELETED!!! I DEMAND A RESTORATION OF THIS PAGE OR I WILL NEVER USE THIS WEBSITE AGAIN AND IT WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

TRYING TO ASK NICLEY, Libertyville 23:46, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Since when are Middle schools notable? --tjstrf talk 23:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Libertyville, you don't own the articles that you author, as they are released in to the public domain under the GFDL licence. They are open to be edited mercilessly or even deleted if they are not sufficiently notable. The above article was PRODded and deleted after five days when it showed no signs of improvement. If you want to resurrect it then please take your business case to Wikipedia:Deletion review. Lastly, if you are trying to ask nicely then you can start with using lowercase characters. Typing in capitals is the equivalent to SHOUTING AND IS VERY HARD TO READ WHEN PARAGRAPHS ARE PRESENTED IN SUCH A FASHION. Demanding is also less-than-polite - requesting is somewhat nicer, especially as I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you on WP before. First impressions do count, you know!
tjstrf, notability for schools is decided with the Schools Wikiproject. (aeropagitica) 23:57, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I apologize for the shouting. By the way we have had the pleasure of meeting, I came to you when I first joined this website and you're my only "friend" or even person that I know on this website. Libertyville 00:26, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Oops! Sincere apologies from me about forgetting that. I meet so many people here that it can be hard to keep track sometimes. Goodnight to you! (aeropagitica) 00:30, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Matt Heldman

A tag has been placed on Matt Heldman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add hangon on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

In addition, please read Wikipedia is not a memorial, which notes, "Wikipedia is not the place to honor departed friends and relatives. Subjects of encyclopedia articles must be notable besides being fondly remembered." --MCB 07:37, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Please stop adding "Bearshelmet.jpg" to Bears related pages. Not only is the image obnoxiously large, it is unlawful to use an image with a strict copy right on a commercial site (such as Wikipedia). Thanks for your time --ShadowJester07 01:37, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for image:lhs2.jpg

Thanks for uploading a logo of Libertyville High School. Unfortunately, you did not add the correct image tag. Because Wikipedia is huge, it really helps if individual users correctly tag their uploaded images, because quite frankly, the admins and Image Tagging team just don't have the time to do all of them. Therefore, other images you add without tags may simply be deleted.

Try doing these simple things:

You appear to already have a lot of untagged images in your record. Please keep in mind that people who add a lot of untagged images after having been warned many times are at risk of being blocked from editing. Please don't let that happen to you!

Thanks, and happy editing! Verloren Hoop 21:13, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Hornet.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hornet.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MECUtalk 20:56, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image on Libertyville, Illinois article

Hi - You seem to be having some issues with the image in the infobox on the Libertyville article. Just a couple of tips on how to use the template - for the image_skyline field you need to put in the name of the image without any of the formatting you would normally put into an article (i.e. just put Libertyville Village Hall.JPG, don't bother with ) and for the imagesize field put the size in px (e.g 300 px - you need the space between the number and the px). Many of the templates are awkward to use - people set them all differently and it can take an age to work out each one. Hope this is helpful. You would obviously have got there eventually anyway but I thought i might be able to save you a little time. -- SiobhanHansa 01:20, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Libertyville High School Football

You have recently recreated or reposted material at Libertyville High School Football which previously was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate this article without prior approval from an administrator or you may be blocked from editing. We ask that you respect what Wikipedia is not. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may seek an independent deletion review. --►ShadowJester07  22:19, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

No, obviously, you have not. You have not even read WP:Attribution, WP:Cite, WP:No Original Research, WP:NPOV, WP:Notability or well, probably most of the rules. Please drop the issue; the article will deleted regardless how many times you attempt to re-create it. Please take some time to read the rules. Thanks --►ShadowJester07  22:40, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Also, you cannot recreate deleted articles

If you know the rules, explain why the article was deleted in the first place, or why the entire article has seen no improvement whatsoever from its original incarnation. With all due respect, You don't know the rules, face it, there's no need to attempt to prove anything. As another user suggested, this is a case of WP:COI. If you persist, you will eventually be blocked. What don;t you understand that the article is not notable. I could probably nominate it again for deletion, and you'd see the same results. Please, stand down. thanks --►ShadowJester07  22:55, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
You do not own the article, no one does (well maybe Jimbo). I'm only acting based on rules set created by those who originally created the encyclopedia. Whatever happens to the article is on the hands of the administrator that deleted it. Please do not bother to recreate the article, now, tomorrow, when the Cubs win the world series, or anytime in the near or distant future; it will just be deleted without the option of a 'hangon'.If you persist, the article will be completely blocked from recreation and you will receive a ban - given your ban history possibly a longer and more severe one. --►ShadowJester07  23:28, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
I try to remain politically neutral, though I tend towards right wing politics at times. I've tried to drift away from both sides, since there are too many, nut-cases on both sides ;-) Go Regressives! --►ShadowJester07  02:44, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

With regards to your comments on Talk:Republican Party (United States): Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. [edit] User pages and userboxes

Please do not hijack userpages to create userboxes. If you want to create a userbox, use the form User:Libertyville/boxname, rather than User:boxname. I've tagged two userboxes you've created for deletion due to this improper way of creating userboxes.

Also, please note that the use of fair use images such as Image:Republicanlogo.svg on userboxes is not permitted per WP:NFCC item #9.

If you have any questions about either of these topics, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 23:10, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Tabulating userboxes isn't a difficult thing to do. Take a look at my userpage to see how I have done this. You can also look at Help:Table to see the code for creating different types of table. (aeropagitica) 13:00, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Signature

I would like to know how to change the color in my signature. I went to the signature page on Wikipedia but it did not do a good job of giving step by step instructions. I was wondering if you knew. Also, it said you need to be registered. Are being a user and being registered the same thing? Thank you, Libertyville 14:46, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Being a user and being registered are not the same thing, as the English Wikipedia currently accepts contributions from anonymous IP editors. You are registered as you have set up an account with a username to which your contributions are attributed. Changing your signature is not a difficult thing to do. Before I say anything else, I would encourage you to keep the code down to the bare minimum required, as often people create pretty signatures that take up three or more lines of code. This is very awkward to read through when contributing to a Talk page or a Policy page discussion.
The code for my signature looks like this: (aeropagitica) - very simple indeed. If I want to change the colour of said signature, I would add a hex value to the signature like this: <span style="color:#080080">(aeropagitica)</span> which looks like this: (aeropagitica). The list of web colors is available at Web colors and you can experiment using the 'Show preview' button to minimise the number of edits you make. You can also create a user sub-page to do this. Please remember to keep the code string down to the bare minimum for the comfort and convenience of other editors! Regards, (aeropagitica) 07:07, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to the Illinois Project

I would like to say welcome to the Illinois Project. I see that you are from Libertyville, and have done a major overhaul to the page. One thing I suggest is that you model your article after Springfield in order to go after a GA rating in the future. With Springfield, we basically modeled it after Detroit, which is a FA article. I highly encourage you to do the same for Libertyville, so we have uniformality among all Illinois projects. If you would like me to do it, I would be more than happy too, but since you have taken the city under your wing I would like you to decide more than me just swooping in and doing it. Let me know if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help. One thing, make sure you cite everything you write in the article. Just see the above mentioned articles for the codes.--Kranar drogin 02:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Ndlep.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ndlep.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:10, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About Image:Ndlep.jpg

Greetings, Libertyville! I noticed your request for comment at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions regarding the image tag for Image:Ndlep.jpg. Examining http://www.notre-dame-football.com/?IdLeague=9&IdSport=SOC, I suspect that the image is not licensed under a "free" license. My reasoning is: first, most commercial websites (often ending in ".com") do not freely-license their images or other content; second, a freely-licensed image must be expressly licensed as such by the copyright holder (who is generally the person who shot the photograph or made the work, but in the case of an employee, the copyright holder is generally the employer). So the image is "non-free", and its use on Wikipedia is governed by Wikipedia:Non-free content. The appropriate tag would then be The Notre Dame Leprechaun

Be aware, however, that non-free content may only be used on Wikipedia where its use meets these ten criteria. If you intend to use it, you'll need to add a "non-free use rationale"; that is, a note why it meets those ten criteria. In my opinion, it does not meet those ten criteria, because a Wikipedia editor who attended a football game where the Fighting Irish played could snap a photograph and freely-license it that would serve the same purpose. Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, --Iamunknown 15:24, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Politics of Illinois

A prod template has been added to the article Politics of Illinois, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with db-author. Camaron1 | Chris 12:32, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userbox spinoff

I just took one of your more popular userboxes one step further:

This user would rather have a Congress run by Saddam Hussein than by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Zbthslogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Zbthslogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:09, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:User Libertyville

A tag has been placed on Template:User Libertyville requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>transclusionless</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:16, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I loved your Political UserBoxes

I am using like half of them, I think. I believe we do disagree on somethings, I am not catholic, I am Baptist. But thanks for the UserBoxes and keep up the good work on them. Visit me anytime, you will be welcomed at my User Talk. In Christ, Jay (talk) 06:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm with Jay on this, I love the political ones. I don't agree with you on sports and I'm a non-denomenational Christian. But thank God there are people on here who are not crazy, global warming obsessed, baby killing, treasonous, anti-US, anti-Christian, nazi, communist, liberal, anti-troops, anti-defence, pro-gay marage, pro-illegal immigration, pro-UN, socialist, and pro-Hillary freaks. Keep up the good work, and come by my talk page any time you want to discuss politics. Just wondering, what are your music tastes, views on jiihadists, and views on evolution?
