[edit] Film use

"...the aquatic facilities of LHS were used for the film Ordinary People. Originally, the entire film was to be shot at LHS, but was moved to Lake Forest High School, because the LHS campus was deemed "too nice"."

I seriously doubt this claim. Have you ever seen Lake Forest High School? There are chandeliers in the entryways and it was made out of a converted mansion. Additionally, there is information on the "Ordinary People" Wiki page that contradicts this. Can we also do something about the list of people who went to state? Wikipedia advocates only putting notable people into articles- not people who are known only (very) locally, and even then, aren't known by all or even most citizens of Libertyville. I understand civic pride, but this article reads like a puffed-up LHS student wrote it, not an impartial writer. Also, PLEASE SITE YOUR SOURCES!

I think that anybody can write whatever they want on this website!!! If you don't like what it says, than you can delete it!!! I do disagree with that statement, though. LHS is nothing compared to LFHS. - Libertyville 22:42, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

The ordinary people article claims that pool scenes were shot at Lake Forest College. One of the two needs to be rectified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.245.89.39 (talk) 19:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Libertyvillehs.gif

Image:Libertyvillehs.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:59, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What NOT to include in this article (and what TO include)

Greeting editors!

Before adding or re-adding any content to this article, allow me to make some big suggestions based on some past experience I have had:

1. Go visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools to get a feel for what Wikipedia is looking for in articles about schools. There are a great many things that you can research and include, but there are many things that you may passionately feel are important, and simply don't belong in an encyclopedia article. Remember, this is not your school's homepage ... it is an encyclopedia article about your school.

2. Specifically check out: What not to include. This section outlines things that, even if you think they are important, will likely get deleted eventually, and would likely not hold up if the article gets sent to arbitration. Among the things not to include are events of short term importance like who caught a winning touchdown, how far the team made it in the basketball playoffs (unless it was like a top 4 finish or something like that), the names of coaches or teachers (unless they are otherwise notable), this year's spring musical, etc, etc. These are all either unencyclopedic, or are matters of short term interest. If a team has a record run of conference titles, that may be notable. Simply winning a conference title isn't notable (sorry!).

3. Consider having this article assessed by either the folks at WikiProject Schools, or at Wikipedia:WikiProject Illinois. They can be reached by the big links at the top of this Talk Page. People associated with the project will assess the article, and will give suggestions for improvement. This may help more specifically guide editors as to what needs to be added and what needs to be removed.

Best of luck! LonelyBeacon (talk) 17:07, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
