Libro de Manuel (translates to A manual for Manuel in English) is a famous book by Julio Cortázar published on 1973.
[edit] Summary
The novel is a blueprint that synthetizes the controversy of politics and social movements during the 1970s. It can be read as a natural displacement of characters and themes from his earlier works and has been regarded by many as one of his most ambiguous projects in finding a solution to end genocide, violence and racism in Latin America. Libro de Manuel deals with the true evolution of art within society during a revolutionary period of extreme authoritarian regime. It was later translated to English by Gregory Rabassa.
