Libertyville Township is a township in Lake County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 48,904[1]. The village of Libertyville is part of the township as are parts of Green Oaks, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Mettawa, Mundelein, North Chicago, Rondout, Vernon Hills and Waukegan .

Libertyville Township covers an area of 36.54 square miles (94.63 square kilometers); of this, 0.89 square miles (2.3 square kilometers) or 2.43 percent is water. Lakes in this township include Big Bear Lake, Harvey Lake, Liberty Lake, Little Bear Lake, Minear Lake and West Lake. The stream of Bull Creek runs through this township.
