Libertyville District 70

Libertyville District 70 is located in Libertyville, Illinois.

It includes four elementary schools and one middle school. All four elementary schools feed to the middle school, and then attend Libertyville High School, which is part of Community High School District 128.

District 70 is not year-round.

[edit] Adler Park Elementary School

Adler's mascot is the Gator. Adler has the smallest student population in the district, with 270 children attending for the 2007-08 school year.

Adler is named after David Adler, an artist, who asked for his home to be the site of a recreational center after he died. Therefore, a pool, school, sledding hill, and frisbee golf course were built.

[edit] Butterfield Elementary School

Butterfield's mascot is the Bulldog. It is the largest of the four elementary schools with 642 children attending for the 2007-08 school year.

[edit] Copeland Manor Elementary School

Copeland's mascot is the Cougar.

Copeland Manor School received the Academic Excellence Award from the Illinois State Board of Education. For an elementary school to earn the award, 90 percent of its students must have met or exceeded state standards in reading and mathematics on the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests for at least three consecutive years and must have attained adequate yearly progress under the No Child Left Behind Act. Only 129 of the other 3,793 public Illinois elementary schools received this award; which is less than 3.5%.

Rockland's mascot is the Raptor.

Rockland is located across the street from Highland Middle School.

Highland's mascot is the Hornet.

Highland contains just under 1,000 kids. It is grades 6-8, unlike the elementary schools which are K-5.
