Liarea ornata is a species of small land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Liareidae.

This species is endemic to New Zealand, found in Northland in the North Island.

Sculpture is confined to subobsolute axial growth lines, the surface appearing smooth and polished.
Colour pattern is hydrophanous, the basic coloration being dark reddish-brown, maculated with elaborate chevrons and axial streaks in pale buff.
Shell height is up to 8.7 mm, and width up to 5 mm.
