Liam Needham (Born October 19, 1985) is a soccer player currently playing for Gainsborough Trinity.
He made his professional debut at Hillsborough on the 29th September 2004 coming on as a substitute in the 82nd minute in an embarrassing 1-0 defeat in a Football League Trophy match against Chester City. He said of his debut, "I'm disappointed to lose but to make my debut for Sheffield Wednesday is a dream come true." "I've supported them all my life. But the result is the most important thing of the night. I had butterflies in my stomach for a moment. I couldn't believe I was actually going on. It is a big thing for me which I have now reached. I have set my stall out, this is where I want to be - the first team. I've had my debut from the bench, now it's progressing. I want to get a start for the team now."
Liam never played for Sheffield Wednesday again and was released from the club later that year. He then signed for Notts County where he started twenty two games and played four as a substitute. After losing his place in the first team he was loaned to Trinity and returned there on a premanent basis in December 2006.
