Li Jie (guitar player)

Li Jie (Chinese: 李潔; pinyin: Lǐ Jié; b. 1981) is a Chinese classical guitar virtuosa.

She began studying the classical guitar at the age of 11 (Chinese age) under Professor Chen Zhi (陳志). One year later, she appeared as a performer on the television program "Classical Guitar's Technique and Performance" of China's official national television station CCTV. In 1995, she enrolled into the Middle School (high school) of the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music (CCM) in China. In 2000, she was admitted to the CCM.
She has received tremendous international attention and has highly praised by many celebrated masters, such as Professor Michael Levin of The Royal college of Music, John Williams, Alexander Sergei Ramirez, and Lachine Suzuki, to name a few.
Irma Costanzo of Argentina especially appreciates highly Li's performance. She said: "I believe I will appreciate your concerts on the world stage."
To no one's surprise, Li Jie won the 2nd International Guitar Competition in Hong Kong in August 1998.
Li Jie was among the group of three girls, consisting of Li Jie, Wang Yameng, and Chen Shanshan, named "God's Favored Girls - Super Trio". Their consummate skills and enthusiastic style were warmly welcomed at Beijing Music Hall and other concerts all over China.
She has also performed in a quartet formation (Four Angels) with Wang Yameng, Su Meng, Chen Shanshan.
