[edit] Law on Homosexuality
Homosexuality is not forbidden in Niger but a punishment is possible should you "offend the public moral" according to Articles 275-279 or engage in sexual intercourse with minors under the age of consent, which is set at 21 years of age (Article 282). An imprisonment of 6 months to 3 years and a fine of between 10,000 and 100,000 CFA-franc is possible for offenders. [1]

There is no legal protection against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

The government of Niger does not recognize same-sex marriages.
