The Verizon Wireless LG enV (pronounced "envy"), also known as the VX9900, is a Bluetooth-enabled and V CAST-ready mobile phone that includes a full "qwerty" keyboard and a 2.0 megapixel camera. It comes in three color variations: silver, orange, and green. Both the original silver color and the newer orange and green faces are available at Verizon Wireless stores, although the green cover was originally only available through Circuit City. It is also capable of installing VZ Navigator.

It is succeeded by different phones, each of which have chosen different paths: the LG Voyager (VX10000), released November 2007, which has a touch sensitive front screen, and the LG enV2 (VX9100), a smaller and slimmer version, released May 2008.[1]

[edit] Features

The enV has several features, such as the actual Qwerty keyboard and a 2.0 megapixel camera. It is Bluetooth-compatible and supports V CAST, Verizon's music and video service, as well as VZ Navigator and Verizon's map service. The phone has a microSD memory card port for storing music and video from a computer and is enabled to set videos under 5MB as wallpaper.[2] LG VX9900 (enV) SanDisk recommends: SanDisk microSDHC™ 4 GB - SDSDQ-4096-A11M.[3]

[edit] In popular culture

The enV can be seen used in many music videos, including Fergie's "Glamorous",[4] Akon's "Don't Matter",[5] Gym Class Heroes' "Clothes Off!!", and Vanessa Hudgens' video for "Say Ok".[6] It is used in television shows, as well, seen used by Jackie Warner in the Bravo reality show "Work Out", regularly used by both Brooke and Nick Hogan on season 4 of Hogan Knows Best[7] and by Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl.[8] Hayden Panettiere also frequently uses the phone in front of the paparazzi.[9]There is also a party goer from Eboni's Sweet 16 from MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen. Has also been used in The Real World: Hollywood.
