LG-Nortel IP Phone 8540

LG-Nortel IP Phone 8540 in computer networking is a Voice over Internet Protocol phone designed to support the Nortel-Microsoft's Unified Communications solutions. The phone has an integrated wideband audio codec and Microsoft RTAudio. It comes with a 5.7" 320x240 pixel, color touchscreen LCD display that supports Microsoft Office Communicator 2007. The operating system is Windows CE 5.0. The 8540 provides security via a built-in biometric fingerprint reader (by AuthenTec AES1510 fingerprint) slide sensor contoured into the top of the IP Phone 8540. The sensor is used to authenticate the user of the phone to, ensuring that only authorized users are granted access to personal and corporate information such as voicemail, call logs, contact lists and calendars.

Network connectivity is supported through an integrated 2-port Ethernet 10/100 Base-T switch with RJ45 connector ports and activity LEDs. This allows for a direct connection to the network for the phone as well as the collocated PC.
