The fourth brigade of LF comprises infantry, armored, artillery and artillery-rocket units of air defense, engineering and signal units.
The Fourth Brigade Command HQ is based in Vranje, while the units are based in Leskovac, Bujanovac and Vranje.

The LF Fourth Brigade was formed on 30 June 2007 by merging 78th and parts of 549th motorized and 52nd combined-arms artillery brigade. The core of the brigade is made up of members of 78th motorized brigade. The brigade carries on the tradition of the First Infantry Regiment "Knjaz Milos Veliki".

The current tasks of the LF 4th Brigade are securing the administrative line with Kosovo and exercise control over the Ground Security Zone (units are stationed in 16 bases). The unit also has the following additional tasks: - training commands and units for special tasks.

In the units and command of 4th LF Brigade a specialist military training of soldiers of all LF branches is conducted in the second stage of training. Furthermore, specialization of military professionals is conducted in this unit.
